    Get PDF
The aim of the present study is to assess the quality of services being provided by the agricultural and medical university libraries of Haryana and Punjab states of India by using three dimensions of LibQUAL+ tool, i.e., ‘Affect of Service’, ‘Information Control’, and ‘Library as Place’. Based on the feedback from the different categories of users’, it has been tried to assess the perceptions and expectations of users towards the quality of library services. Total 800 well structured LibQUAL+ questionnaires were distributed among the respondents of four universities under study but 601 were returned, which forms the response rate @ 75.12%. Findings of the study revealed that the respondents of agricultural university libraries were more satisfied with the facilities and services provided by the library as compared to the users of medical university libraries, as most of the dimension items get positive scores on ‘service adequacy gap’; however, there is also found negative scores on “service superiority” level for all the university libraries under study, which shows that the services are not up to the desired expectations of the respondents. The paper concludes with suggestions to university libraries under study that how to ameliorate the dwindling quality of library services and achieve ultimate users’ satisfaction

Due to impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and changing needs of users, libraries have to force to shift from manual to automated environment. Users now want quality services within shortest possible time. Libraries have to assess its services from the user’s point of view. It is the user, who can judge the services better provided by the concerned library. In this paper, it is try to review the available literature on assessment of service quality of libraries worldwide. The present study would be beneficial for library professionals, research scholars and the teachers of library and information science, who want to do further research work on the aspect of service quality of libraries

The present study is based on the bibliometric analysis of 161 articles published in 09 volumes (24-32) of 18 issues of Indian Journal of Agricultural Library and Information Services (IJALIS) for the period of nine years (2008-2016). This article brings out the results of a bibliometric study carried on all the issues of the source journal (IJALIS) on various parameters such as authorship pattern, gender wise distribution of papers, length of papers, average number of references, volume & issue wise average papers, geographical distribution of articles, range of reference cited and most prolific authors of the journal. The study finds that on an average, 18 research articles were published per volume in a year during the period of study, whereas, maximum number (39.75%) of articles was two authored followed by single authored (32.36%). Karnataka begged the top rank among all the 20 contributed states of India from where maximum number of contribution in the journal

This paper is an attempt to study the awareness and use of e-resources among the students at Chandigarh College of Architecture, Chandigarh, India. For the present study, survey method has been adopted using questionnaire as a data gathering tool. Copies of self designed questionnaire were distributed online through e-mail/WhatsApp to the 150 students during February-March, 2021. Out of total 150 administered questionnaires, 127 completely filled questionnaires were received back and found valid for analysis. The response rate is achieved @84.66 percent. The study revealed that more than 90 percent of the respondents were aware about the use of electronic resources and currently using in their academic and research work. About 46 percent of the respondents were preferred to use only e-resources, while 31 percent of the respondents were preferred to use both printed as well as e-resources equally. 93 percent of the respondents were using e-resources particularly to collect the information for paper publishing, while more than 95 percent respondents were satisfied with the use of e-resources in their academic and research related work. The study also found some problems faced by the respondents such as downloading speed, searching e-contents, and lack of ICT skills. Concluded with the suggestion that proper training programs should be organized on regular basis so that most of the students would learn how to search and use e-resources effectively in their academic and research work

The purpose of this article was to explore the pattern of publications, using bibliometric analysis, of Journal of Documentation for the period of 2005 to 2018. The results of the study shows that a total of 687 articles were published in the 14 years period from 2005 to 2018, with 71 (10.3%) articles being published the highest total in the year 2018. The study confirmed that the maximum number of articles i.e. 304 (43.9%), were published by single authors, out of which, a large number were on research articles. Out of total number of articles published 228 (33.1%) were 16-20 pages in length. Volume number 74 in 2018 had the highest number of citations with a total of 91 (13.6%). In addition, the study confirmed that the highest number of articles were research articles with a total of 493 (71.7), while others were case studies, conceptual studies, literature reviews, viewpoints and technical papers and short communications, etc

The Effect of Co doping on Structural, Optical and Dielectric Behaviour of TiO2 Nanoparticles

Chemical precipitation method was used to synthesise pure and Co-doped TiO2 nanoparticles. The synthesised nanoparticles were studied for its structural optical and dielectric properties. X-Ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed the anatase phase with the tetragonal structure obtained for both samples. No extra peak was obtained in the pattern indicates that cobalt ions were successfully incorporated. The crystallite size of both samples were determined by using Debye-Scherrer’s method, and it was found that it decreases with the dopant addition. UV vis spectroscopy was performed to study the optical properties of both samples. The dielectric constant (ΔÊč), dielectric loss and ac conductivity (σac) of both samples were studied against the frequency. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and ac conductivity results showed that Co-doping has a significant effect

Background: Stock price movements can be predicted using fundamental analysis based on the information presented in the company's financial statements. Based on the analysis, investors can measure the company's performance and predict the direction of stock price movements. Methodology: Prediction of stock price movement using profitability analysis was done by testing the effect of profitability to stock price. The intended stock price is the market price that occurs on the exchange at a certain moment determined by the market participants. Profitability in this study was measured by using indicator of return on asset, return on equity, net profit margin, and earnings per share. The study object is non-banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange and listed in the LQ45 Index in the period of 2011-2016. The data were collected using purposive sampling technique. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression method. Findings: At a significance level of 5%, the results of the analysis concluded that only earnings per share that has a significant effect on stock price. Meanwhile, the other three profitability indicators i.e. return on asset, return on equity, and net profit margin have no effect on stock price. Thus, the results of this study indicate that profitability measured using indicator of return on asset, return on equity, and net profit margin does not reflect stock price movements. In other words, stock price movements can only be predicted using earning per share indicator. Keywords: fundamental analysis, profitability, stock price

Clinical Evaluation of Xylazine-Butorphanol-Guaifenesin-Ketamine as Short-Term TIVA in Equines

    Get PDF
Xylazine (1.1 mg/kg), butorphanol (0.02 mg/kg), guaifenesin 5% (20 mg/kg), and ketamine (2.2 mg/kg) combinations were able to induce short-term surgical anaesthesia for 23.33 ± 2.57 min in Spiti ponies with excellent to good muscle relaxation and analgesia. Urination and neighing was a constant feature during recovery period. Biphasic P wave, biphasic T wave, and depressed PR segment were common electrocardiographic findings. Biochemical attributes were within physiological limits except a significant increase in ALT values during anaesthesia. The values returned to normal during recovery ruling out any renal or hepatic toxicity. Occasionally, negative T wave, notched P wave, and sinus block were noticed. It is recommended that the anaesthetic combinations xylazine-butorphanol-guaifenesin-ketamine can be safely used for short-term total intravenous anaesthesia (TIVA) in equines under field conditions
